Laboratory of Behavioural Neurodynamics is focused on investigating cognitive neurobiology of language acquisition and comprehension. Our project is aimed at accomplishing a large-scale research programme and creating a modern state-of-the-art research centre at SPbU in order to enable a multi-dimensional investigation of human speech function.

Our goals are to expand the existing knowledge in the field and to clarify the nature of neuroplastic changes almost instantaneously occurring in response to new speech stimuli in the process of their acquisition by children and adults. Apart from identifying mechanisms of verbal learning, one of our primary goals is to gain a better understanding of brain bases for storing and processing verbal information. We plan to achieve this goal by looking into the activity of the structures involved in these processes, the temporal dynamics of their activation, as well as interaction between different brain regions and their functional and anatomic connections, while also working on determining potential causal relationships.

    About research

The Laboratory of Behavioral Neurodynamics conducts research in the field of cognitive neurobiology of the processes of language learning and perception. The project aims to implement a large-scale research program to study the neurocognitive foundations of language and learning.

Our goals are to expand the existing ideas in this area and clarify the nature of neuroplastic changes that occur almost instantly in response to the presentation of new speech stimuli in the process of their development by children and adults.
