5th International Neurobiology of Speech and Language Conference

Dear colleagues,
This is our pleasure to announce the call for abstracts for the 5th International Neurobiology of Speech and Language Conference, taking place on 8th – 9th October 2021. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting will be held in a mixed (online + offline) format. Nevertheless, the variety of topics remains traditionally broad and rich.

In October, the Laboratory of Behavioural Neurodynamics (Saint Petersburg State University) will host the 2-day-long interactive conference on a wide range of topics including the neurobiology and psychology of speech and language, language acquisition and learning, speech pathologies and their amelioration, and many others.

Neural responses uncovering the nature of language development deficits
Yury Shtyrov (Saint Petersburg State University, Russia; Aarhus University, Denmark)
Word learning in the brain: Functional, structural and neuromodulatory evidence
Antoni Rodriguez-Fornells (University of Barcelona, Spain)
Motivated language learning: the role of intrinsic reward and information sampling

Participation is free, but places are limited and registration is obligatory.

The working language of the conference is English, no translation services will be offered.

Abstract submissions will be peer-reviewed, and selected abstracts will be nominated for oral presentations (approx. 15 min) or flash talks (approx. 3 min). The abstract size is limited to 2500 characters including spaces (no tables or graphs). Each submission should include the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. All in-text references should be in chronological order and formatted as in the following example: (Pepperberg, 2002; Corballis, Suddendorf, 2007; Arbib et al., 2008). Reference section should not be included. Numerical results should be formatted in accordance to APA style. Acknowledgements and funding (if applicable) should be mentioned after the Discussion section. Submissions that do not adhere to the formatting guidelines will be rejected without review.
