Research scientist, postgraduate student

Novikovskaya Nadezhda

Scientific research

Nadezhda’s research interests include issues related to conceptual thinking, the concept of verbal-to-imagery conversion of L. M. Vecker, abstract and concrete concepts. Also Nadezhda is interested in mental and neural processes that reflect the dynamics of various types of semantic learning and relearning. Moreover, her scientific field of interest contains issues related to usability and UX. Thus, Nadezhda’s research preferences include cognitive psychology, psycho- and neurolinguistics.

In the Lab

Nadezhda takes part in studying various types of semantic learning and relearning, the development of the research paradigm and creating stimulus material for a project involving the study of the dynamics of mental and neural representations of abstract and concrete concepts during learning and relearning. Nadezhda uses EEG as a method of neuroimaging. She collects EEG data and takes part in its processing. In addition, Nadezhda works with tDCS neuromodulation tool. She participates in writing applications for grants and scholarships for this and other projects.
