Scientific Conference “Central Speech Mechanisms”
The Head of the Lab Yuri Shtyrov gave a lecture at the IX All-Russian (with International Participation) Scientific Conference “Central Speech Mechanisms”
The lecture was focused one of the hottest topics of cognitive neuroscience and neurolinguistics – “embodied cognition”. The motor cortex participates in processing verbal information, especially so with words related to actions. This can be observed by using the neuroimaging methods (EEG, MEG) which allow recording the activation of the motor cortex at 200 ms, and sometimes even at 80 ms!
The materials of the conference are attached here, you can find more details in Professor Shtyrov’s conference paper.
